Visitors to Canada Travel Insurance Benefits

Insures up to a maximum liability of $150,000 per Insured Person per period of Coverage as a result of Injury or Sickness.  Coverage is not applicable while in Your country of residence.  Travel to the U.S.A. or Mexico during the Period of Coverage is valid as long as the majority of the Period of Coverage is spent in Canada, except for U.S.A. residents returning to the U.S.A. and Mexican residents returning to Mexico.

What is Covered

1. Hospital Confinement

 

Pays for standard accommodation and for services and supplies reasonable and necessary for your care during confinement as a resident in-patient in a Hospital.

2. Emergency Treatment

 

Covers three Follow-up visits (not including ongoing treatment), when medical process in dealing with the Emergency requires such Follow-up visit.

3. Medical Services

 

Covers services of a licensed Medical Physician and surgeon or legally qualified anesthetist, registered graduate nurse, X-ray examination by a licensed medical Physician for the purpose of diagnosis, use of licensed local ambulance (including mountain and sea rescue), rental of crutches or hospital-type bed or the costs of splints, trusses, braces or other approved prosthetic appliances, but in no event will the higher amount payable exceed the total purchase price.

4. Additional Medical Services

Up to $500

Covers services of a licensed physiotherapist, chiropractor, chiropodist, osteopath and podiatrist for the relief of a cute Emergency pain caused by an Accidental Injury.  Chiropractor benefits are limited to the initial office visit and treatment.

5. Medicines and /or Drugs

Up to 30 days supply

Covers drugs or medicines that are prescribed and deemed essential by the attending medical Physician following a consultation, unless confined to Hospital.

6.  Emergency Air Transportation

 

Covers medical transport (by the most appropriate means, stretcher accommodation or Emergency air ambulance service), to transport the Insured to the nearest medical facility equipped to provide the required treatment limited to Canada and the U.S.A.  Also includes the costs to return the Insured’s traveling companion aboard the medical transport (if space permits aboard the medical transport) and any necessary medical accompaniment.

7. Dental Services

Up to $4,000

Covers expenses for an accidental blow to the face requiring the repair or replacement of whole or sound natural teeth.  Also covers up to $500 for emergency treatment of pain relief, other than a blow to the face.

8. Homeward Carriage for Burial Benefit  

Up to $10,000 (excludes costs of casket)

The expenses to return your body to your Country of Origin in the event of your death; or up to $4,000 for the cremation or burial at the place of death.

9.  Subsistence Allowance Benefit

Up to $1,000

Covers expenses for reasonable board, lodging and extra travel expenses incurred during the term of the said Hospitalization by other Insureds who remain with the Hospitalized Insured.

10.  Additional Benefit

Maximum sum insured: $25,000

24-Hour Accident Insurance.
